White-browed wagtail ( Motacilla maderaspatenis )

While we were birding around Mysore outskirts, we were inquisitive about early winter visitors. Just as when this flew past my and landed on this heap of sand. Main habitat for these birds includes banks of rivers, pools, lakes, canals.

Terrific image, Pramod. One of the best of this species. Even though they're quite common, I find them rather difficult to photograph them because of their small size and black colour, due to which exposing them accurately is a challenge. I too had an opportunity to photograph this beauty in K.Gudi but the light was very harsh. This picture, though, is beautifully done.

:) thanks for the kind words Santosh. Yes exposure is difficult especially there are blacks and whites in the subject.
